summery of the year

this year was definitely exciting and challenging. At the beginning of the year i wasn't sure if i made the right decision by choosing Texas state university but now i cant imagine myself attending any other school. I knew three people at Texas state before the year started but it was really easy to make friends. first semester flew by and it was not easy but i manged to get on the deans list. i think it was a really good way to start my college life.

since i thought last semester was so easy, i tried to challenge myself by taking 2 more classes. i am not sure if that was a good idea because i didn't learn as much as i thought i should have in biology but i'm still expecting to make the deans list. Bio 1430 was definitely my hardest subject but i tried my best so its all good. another thing that made this year a bit more difficult is having a girlfriend at home. we have been good throughout the year but it feels like things are getting hard the last couple of weeks. maybe its because of finals but it would suck to make it through the whole year and then break up the last week. but i have really loved this year and i wouldn't change it

Rec Junky

In butler we have a program known as the butler Grammies at the end of the year. it is pretty much one big popularity contest. I was nominated for a lot of random little things. The whole point of the butler Grammies was to get people who usually hide in their room a chance to socialize but its hard to vote for someone that you have no idea who they are.

at the beginning of the school year, i was one of those people who stayed went to school and straight to the room. i quickly realized that college really sucks a lot when the only person you know is your roommate. my roommate is a really cool guy but after the first week i forced myself to go out and make friends and that turned out to be a really good idea.

Basketball at the rec

Today i decided to go the rec center and play basketball. I love basketball but i know its not my sport. i dont suck but i would much rather be playing football. in football it is easier to maintain your composure because it is very violent, so if you get upset all you have to do is hit someone really hard and you will most likely feel better. basketball on the other hand is not suppose to be that physical.

the team we played was at least a foot taller than everyone on our team but we almost won. we also had a girl on our team. everyone underestimated her, including myself but she turned out to be very good. and we almost won. we ended up losing by one point.

NBA playoffs

I love watching basketball. i love watching people compete because it reveals so much about humans. today i watched the houston rockets play the lakers and the rockets lost. im from houston so the rockets have to be the team i cheer for (even though the lakers have been one of my favorite teams). even though i cheer for the rockets i have never thought they were that good. this year they seem to almost have their act together.

in the game today, Ron Artest was ejected from the game because he was hit by kobe but the refs called it on Artest. Artest made it clear that he would not stand for a person to hit him in the face. he was ejected from the game because it appeared that he tried to start a fight. as i watched artest talk to kobe i tried to read his lips and lets just say, parents are glad the players arent miked up

1st all nighter

so i pulled my first and hopefully my last all nighter ever! i actually didnt plan on staying up but as i was doing my work it just felt like i was going nowhere fast. i had a scientific paper to write, my six week project for weight lifting, and i had about two other essays to write. i got it done but it literally took the whole night.

I remember looking up at the window. first time i have actually watched the sun rise. im sure it would have been more special if i didnt feel like i was half dead. in the morning my roommate gave me really strong coffee and that made me feel cracked out. i ended up staying up from then til 3 am the next morning. not fun at all!
